At Profile Precision Extrusions, we look at things a bit differently than the rest of our industry. We value ourselves in taking on projects that others shy away from or deem “impossible.” We look for reasons to say YES rather than no. The reason is simple; taking on challenges allows us to learn. Things that we learn on one project can then be applied to future projects. Seven years ago, we had an extremely difficult extrusion due to its size, tolerances, and alloy requirement. After a year of development work, we developed a new extrusion die vendor that allowed us to successfully manufacture production volumes. We now use that same die technology on more than 50 designs!
More recently, a valued customer asked us to machine some parts with very close tolerances at a length of over 13 feet. We spent six months looking for a local vendor that could machine the parts. When that failed, we spent twelve months researching equipment capable of doing the work. On November 21st we placed an order with the winning manufacturer, and in January we’ll start machining parts similar to the ones below!
Our Thanksgiving celebration is a bit like our extrusions; We look at things differently than most. Our potluck includes non-traditional delicacies such as Chicago Cheesecake, Vegan Vegetable Curry Soup, and Cajun Deep-Fried Turkey. Oh and by the way, did I mention that we held it outside in 75-degree weather? We wouldn’t have it any other way!
