Since its inception in 1982, Profile Precision Extrusions (PPE) has been a beacon of innovation and excellence in the field of aluminum extrusions. The company’s journey, spanning over four decades, is a testament to its unwavering commitment to producing miniature extrusions that many in the industry considered too small or challenging.

The Humble Beginnings

It all started when Anthony Fleres, Doug Sloan, and Horace Pereira founded Almex with a clear vision: to specialize in the niche market of miniature aluminum extrusions. Their first factory, nestled at 4203 West Adams in Phoenix, Arizona, laid the foundation for a legacy of precision and quality.

A Legacy of Growth and Innovation

In 1982, the business transitioned to American Precision Extrusions, beginning a series of expansions and innovations. By 1984, the company had moved into a larger 25,000 ft² facility at 204 South 69th St., continuing to serve the electronics and aerospace industries with its close-tolerance extrusions.

The late 80s saw another pivotal moment when RJS Precision Extrusions purchased the business. Ray Kelce, John Meyers, and Steve Oney’s new leadership maintained the focus on miniature extrusions and introduced value-added services like CNC machining and anodizing, largely supported by local Phoenix vendors.

Stepping into the New Millennium

The turn of the century brought more changes and growth. Profile Extrusion Company’s acquisition of RJS in 1998 led to the birth of Profile Precision Extrusions in 2001. The company ventured into the disposable medical device market, complementing its aerospace and industrial clientele. The addition of a 750T 4.5” extrusion press in 2007 marked a significant upgrade to its manufacturing capabilities.

Expanding Horizons

The year 2011 was a milestone with the construction of a 40,000 ft² factory at 7225 West Sherman Street to meet the soaring demand. In 2017 a brand new Presezzi 5.125” extrusion press was installed. More investments in advanced technology, including a CNC Swiss Lathe, a CNC Long Bed Machining center, and Wire EDM for medical extrusions were also added.

Today and Tomorrow

Fast forward to 2020, and Profile Precision Extrusions was on the move again. This time to a custom-built 100,000 ft² factory at 6565 W. Grant St., equipped with a third extrusion press and state-of-the-art facilities. This move symbolizes not just growth in size but an evolution in capabilities and a commitment to quality.
